“ART OF DUMMERSTON”

An Exhibit Sponsored by the Dummerston Historical Society

July 26 - October 12, 2008

CALL FOR ARTISTS

The Dummerston Historical Society invites artisans to exhibit artwork at the Historical Society Schoolhouse in Dummerston Center during its “ART OF DUMMERSTON” exhibit from Saturday, July 26 to Sunday, October 12 (Columbus Day - Apple Pie Festival).

This exhibit is open to all artists regardless of residence, with the only requirement for this show being that the subject matter, materials or theme be “of Dummerston”. All media are acceptable.

Suggestions for artwork might include a watercolor of the covered bridge or Stickney Brook, an oil painting of a Dummerston landscape, a woodcut or a quilt of a Dummerston scene, a wood carving of wood downed in Dummerston, a photograph of any happening, people or buildings in town, a mosaic or sculpture depicting life in Dummerston - you get the idea! Whether you are a regular exhibitor or a “closet” artist, consider being part of this exciting venture.

While we have sent this letter to many artists and organizations, we most likely have missed some talented individuals. If you know of someone who might be interested, please feel free to pass along this information.

If the interest in participation exceeds the space available, the steering committee may consider showing work by category or theme and schedule additional exhibits.

Exhibit Dates: Saturday, July 26 - Sunday, October 12

(Specific open dates to be scheduled & publicized)
